Artists Bio:

Ruth Kaldor paints in watercolor and oil. She is a member of the Vermont Watercolor Society. Ruth was an art teacher for thirty-one years, teaching visual art to grades K-12 at Cabot School, Vermont and then Peacham Elementary School, Peacham, Vermont. Today, Ruth devotes full time to painting. She participates in a weekly figure drawing / painting group.

"I'm always working toward mastering my drawing skills, interpreting values, and keeping my colors clean. Outside my studio, plein air painting is a passion where I take in the sights, sounds, and smells. I rise to the challenge of capturing that light and sense of place." One plein air admirer said of Ruth's art, "Anyone can paint a picture but not everyone can paint a painting."

Education:
1973 B.S. in Art, Towson University, Towson, Maryland
2002 M.ED, Union Institute, Montpelier, Vermont
2015 Online Teaching Certificate, Marlboro College, Vt

Ruth has also studied at many painting workshops in Vermont with painters Susan Abbott, Lisa Beach, Annelein Beukenkamp, Billy Brauer, Jeneane Lunn, Robert O'Brien, Andrew Orr, Susan Bull Riley, Eric Tobin, and David Gray (from Washington State), and in Maine with watercolor painter David Dewey. She holds a signature membership in the Vermont Watercolor Society and membership in the New England Watercolor Society
